Position Summary
Under the leadership of the department director and assistant director, the Cardiothoracic Operating Room RN demonstrates advanced clinical expertise in circulating and/or scrubbing, in a variety of open heart, chest and vascular (inclusive of peripheral vascular) procedures. The Cardiothoracic Operating Room RN may be responsible for delivering direct nursing care to all patient populations throughout the Main Operating room according to the policies and procedures of the hospital and department. Important dimensions of this position consist of quality of care, professional commitment, teamwork, interpersonal skills, safety, good public/customer relations and a broad nursing knowledge. The registered nurse is an experienced nurse who shall orient new staff, precept students, and assume relief charge nurse duty as oriented and assigned.
This position requires the ability to take call and be available to respond within 30 minutes.
Experience
Must have acute care hospital Operating Room experience with a minimum of 2 years of continuous experience circulating and/or scrubbing various types of cardiothoracic surgical procedures. Must have detailed knowledge of the complex field of cardiothoracic perioperative nursing and cardiac surgery products/technology. Prefer 2years of general surgery perioperative experience (i.e., circulating and/or scrubbing major complex surgical procedures). Demonstrated excellence in interpersonal, written and verbal communication
Education
Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.
Licensure/Certifications
State of California RN license required. American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS is required. ACLS certification must be obtained prior to completion of orientation and independent assignment.

6:00A-2:30P or 6:30A-3:00PM, variable start time dependent upon scheduled cases. On-call will be required

78.54 USD
to
$95.48
The hours employees work determine when a shift differential is paid.
Hourly Evening Shift Differential: $5.50
Hourly Night Shift Differential: $8.00
